Thanks for sending me the pictures. We made it home safe and have had time to recover from our exuberance. Wow! We had an amazing time this week with you all. Nick commented on the way back to the airport that "everything was just easy" which is what you want when you are on vacation; ease and relaxation. I wish the fishing was that easy too, ha! But those awesome moments when I landed the dozen or so fish I did is what keeps me going. Just like golf, it only takes a few sweet shots to get me excited about another round. From the moment we arrived and had drinks at the firepit to take in the view to when we were packing up to head home we all enjoyed the experience immensely and will never forget it. Steve and Pete are the quentisential hosts and a great pleasure to be around. Pete has the personality, temperament, and knowledge of a magnificent guide. The wonderful chef...The food and appetizers were outstanding. And finally, Sandee's touch with the lodge and cabins is what elevates the operation from excellent to world-class. Everyone on the team is playing to their strengths and it works beautifully. You all have something great up there in Twin Bridges and that you are able to do it with family makes it extra special. I've been fly fishing in several spots in the US and other countries (you would figure I should be a better fisherman) and Ruby Drake Lodge stacks up in the top of the list. I plan to come back up in the fall for a "cast & blast" that I am already excited about. In the meantime, should any of you come down to Austin please give us a heads up so we may return the favor of your gracious hospitality. Until then, I wish everyone p there blessing and prosperity. Pete & Steve, I wanted to take a minute and let you know how much I enjoyed being at the lodge and meeting all of you. I wanted to shoot you a quick note and thank you for such a special experience with my family last week. It’s hard to believe this time last week, we were in paradise out there. I appreciate you going out of your way to make my family feel comfortable. We’re a handful, particularly with the young ones and I appreciate all of you accommodating our needs. I know it’s unorthodox to have a large family in that setting, but I have to say, you all handled it incredible well.It was a wonderful treat for us and I can’t thank you enough for making us all feel so special. My week at the Ruby Drake lodge was more than any expectation I could have brought with me. Waking up each morning, doing yoga to the sound of the Ruby River. After a full day of fishing, I was welcomed back to the beauty and peace of the lodge and my darling, sophisticated cabin. Each night I fell into the kind of hard, peaceful sleep you meet only after so much splendor and contentment. I felt welcomed and cared for and while the nature was spectacular, what will stay with me and draw me back to the Ruby Drake with be the warmth of the family hearth that Pete, Sandee and Steve create. It was a calm and beautiful centering I could not have foreseen and will never forget. - April

Enjoyed hanging with friends in the lodge, on the porch or in the dining room after dinner. You’ve made the lodge such a warm, comfortable place to relax.
